Day 1: Auckland - Paihia, Bay of Islands
Today you will go on a fantastic tour that takes you across the Auckland Harbour Bridge, north via the Hibiscus Coast to the beautiful Bay of Islands
- a haven for people who enjoy sea activities and the beauty of uncrowded sandy beaches and native forests. When you arrive in the seaside town
of Paihia you will be transferred to your accommodation.
Day 2: Cape Reinga & 90 Mile Beach Tour
Day trip to Cape Reinga to experience the natural wonders of the far North. See mighty Kauri trees as you take a short walk through the Puketi Kauri
Forest, drive along Ninety Mile Beach, and travel to the top of New Zealand and wander out to the lighthouse at Cape Reinga. Ride sand sledges
on the massive sand dunes with time to take a swim and dig for shellfish. There are numerous stops for you to take in the scenic highlights and
activities. Your Coach Captain's local knowledge and informative commentary will make this trip one to remember. It is a day full of activity and
yours to enjoy. (BBQ lunch included today.)
Day 3: Paihia at leisure
Enjoy the large outdoor viewing decks as you cruise past the inner islands of the Bay and Cape Brett Lighthouse, before arriving at the majestic Hole
in the Rock - hold your breath as the skipper navigates through the narrow space and admire the rock walls which soar above you. Take in the Grand
On the return journey meander through the inner islands keeping a look out for common and bottlenose dolphins, whales and other marine life as your
skipper gives an informative commentary. Enjoy an island stopover on beautiful Urupukapuka Island.
Day 4: Paihia - Auckland
Travel back to Auckland for your overnight accommodation.
Day 5: Auckland - Waitomo Caves - Rotorua
Travel Auckland south through the rich farmland of the Waikato on to Waitomo. After lunch (included) begin your guided tour through the long galleries
and lofty chambers of the Caves. Your tour continues with a boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto, illuminated by thousands of tiny lights from
the glowworms suspended from the cave ceiling. After your visit reboard your coach and continue on to Rotorua.
Day 6: Rotorua Sightseeing
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Rotorua's top iconic attractions. Experience Te Puia, a place of Maori culture and a thermal wonderland
of geysers and boiling mud pools. Explore Rainbow Springs Nature Park, which showcases native flora and fauna as well as the New Zealand Kiwi and
see the Agrodome Show - a hands on experience giving you an animated insight into New Zealand's farming history. Finally enjoy a Skyline Gondola
ride to the top of Mt Ngongotaha and buffet lunch before being returned to your hotel.
An evening at Mitai will give you an authentic introduction to Maori culture leaving you amazed and in awe. Be enthralled by the natural bush setting,
see warriors in traditional dress paddle an ancient warrior waka (canoe) down the Wai-o-whiro stream, and don't miss your only opportunity in the
Rotorua area to see glow worms in their natural habitat. Marvel at the crystal clear water full of eels and trout, flowing directly from the earth
at the sacred Fairy Spring. See your traditionally cooked hangi meal being lifted from the ground.
Day 7: Rotorua at leisure
Enjoy the many activities Rotorua has to offer at your own pace.
Day 8: Rotorua - Lake Taupo
Transfer to Taupo
This full day tour provides a glimpse into the uses of this ancient rainforest by the early Maori inhabitants of Te Urewera, the vast wooded mountain
country between the Central Plateau and the East Coast of the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. Included in this tour is a leisurely walk of
about 4.5 hours duration, graded easy and suitable for all ages. During your time with us, Maori guides will tell you something of the tribal history
of this isolated region, and provide flora and fauna interpretation. A relaxing luncheon on the banks of the picturesque Whirinaki River is included,
providing an opportunity to experience the solitude and tranquility of one of the least-used wilderness areas in Aotearoa.
Day 9: Lake Taupo Cruise & Eco Walk
Smell the coffee brewing as you board the Cruise Cat, take a seat and enjoy all the comforts as you cruise to the Maori Rock Carvings. A full commentary
is given on the history of Lake Taupo as you cruise out of the Taupo Marina.Take in the fabulous views of secluded bays and the spectacular mountain
peaks of Tongariro National Park.The sights are amazing all year round! Our Scenic Cruises are operated throughout the year and they take in the
Maori Rock Carvings, historical points of interest in Whakaipo Bay and on a clear day the majestic volcanoes of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro
can be seen at the Southern end of the lake.
Day 10: Lake Taupo - Napier
Transfer to the Wine Capital of New Zealand Napier.
Day 11: Napier Wine Region Sightseeing
Enjoy the Premium Reserve tour this afternoon, allowing you to sit back and relax. Visit 3-4 wineries (including a Premium vineyard & wine making
tour) and 1 speciality food outlet. Enjoy a gourmet platter.
Day 12: Napier - Wellington
Transfer to New Zealand'€s Capital - Wellington
Day 13: Wellington Sightseeing
The perfect introduction to Wellington City! Visit all the must-see sights and attractions. Highlights include city, harbour and hill views from some
of the city's most spectacular vantage points, as well as visiting many of Wellington's most famous landmarks and icons including the Beehive and
Parliament Buildings, Lady Norwood Rose Gardens and views of Wellington City and Harbour from the summit of Mt Victoria.
Day 14: Package ends
