Day 1: Adelaide
Day 2: Grand Barossa & Hahndorf tour
You will be collected from your hotel by Grayline Adelaide to commence your full day Grand Barossa Tour including morning tea at Sepppeltsfield, wine
tasting at Wolf Blass Winery, lunch/wine tasting at Barossa Chateau and afternoon tea. The Barossa Valley with its Bavarian villages, baroque Italianate
Chateaux and stunning vineyard scenery gives a unique mix of Europe in Australia. Breathe in the beauty of the Adelaide Hills in the leafy greenness
of the quaint yet charming villages, so close yet so removed from the city bustle of Adelaide. Sample the delights of the Barossa Valley with wine
tasting and a delicious winery lunch. Tour through the rolling Adelaide Hills dotted with quaint villages to the German settlement of Hahndorf,
rich in German heritage and a delight to walk and browse along the main street, evoking the sounds, tastes and smells of Bavaria. At the conclusion
of the tour, you will be returned to your accommodation by approximately 5.30pm.
Day 3: Full Day Tour to Kangaroo Island (coach & flight)
Arrive on Kangaroo Island at 9.45 a.m. by ferry service, where you will be met by your guide. Your island nature experience begins with an introduction
to Kangaroo Island. Tour through several differing island habitats and see wildlife in its natural environment. Kangaroo Island is a haven for
Australian wildlife, which exists in its natural habitat without the threat of introduced predators. As you travel the island keep an eye out for
echidnas, wallabies, reptiles and wildflowers along the roadside. At the spectacular Seal Bay your guide will escort you on a memorable walk along
the beach. This bay is home to a healthy Australian sea lion colony. With your guide you are able to stand reasonably close to these wonderful
endangered creatures and can hear them sigh and watch them at play. This is a truly and unforgettable experience - one that you will treasure forever.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at a secluded bush setting. Follow your lunch with a pleasant bushwalk or beach stroll. Travel through the island's interior
keeping an eye out for koalas and echidnas. Explore the spectacular beaches of the north coast and take a bushwalk. Listen for Australia's rarest
cockatoo, the Kangaroo Island glossy black cockatoo and watch for the tammar wallaby, in its natural habitat. Later in the afternoon, as the day
draws to a close, see the kangaroos leave the safety of the bush to begin grazing on the open pastures.
Day 4: Adelaide - Uluru (Ayers Rock) (flight not included)
Arrive in Ayers Rock You will be set down at a desert dune where you will sip champagne and listen to the haunting sounds of a didgeridoo while watching
a magnificent sunset over Kata Tjuta. When the sun has finally set, lanterns will be lit and a Northern Territory gourmet barbecue will be served.
After dinner, the lights will go down revealing a star filled sky, clearer and brighter than most city dwellers will ever see. The resident Astronomer
will then introduce you to the magnificent constellations, stars and planets that make-up the skies of the Southern Hemisphere.
Day 5: Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunrise, Sightseeing & Guided Walk
Rise early to travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area, Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, to watch the first rays of the sun set Uluru and the Red Centre Alight.
Here you will receive your breakfast, as well as have the opportunity to enjoy a hot drink and a biscuit. After sunrise, accompany your guide to
commence your Base Walk of Uluru. First up walk from Kuniya Piti, an Uluru sacred site, and hear the Tjukurpa (Anangu - the local Aboriginal people
- beliefs and law) story of the Mala Men. Next up is the Mala Walk, one of the most important habitation areas for the local Aboriginal people
over thousands of years. The Mala walk includes a visit into Kantju Gorge, where after rainfall, water can cascade over the side of Uluru and plunge
some 90 metres. From here, you are then on to the base of the climb point. After a short rest break, continue on along the Lungkata Walk where
your guide will tell you the Tjukurpa story of the cheeky Blue Tongue Lizard! Next stop is the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Your guide will indicate the
natural features of the landscape, Aboriginal rock paintings and relay more traditional stories relating to this special place. The waterhole was
once an important water source for Anangu.
Day 6: Package ends
