Northwest Passage Expedition

Over 150 years ago, an expedition led by Sir John Franklin set out to find the “Northwest Passage”, a route connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through the Arctic Ocean. The expedition's two vessels and all its men disappeared, sparking an enduring mystery that has intrigued and gripped the imagination of Canadians ever since. A new chapter in this tale was written in September 2014, when a joint government / private expedition located the final resting place of the HMS Erebus (one of Franklin's lost ships), in the frigid waters of the Victoria Strait. In this Arctic voyage, you will join One Ocean Expeditions as they navigate their modern expedition vessel through the very same waters and wonder about the fate of these early Arctic explorers.
