The over-riding objective of Anderson Vacations corporate programs team is to provide your enterprise and its employees with a customized and exclusive experience that is designed to meet your specific requirements. By definition, generic, off-the-shelf employee programs cannot achieve a truly differentiated positive impact on performance. For this reason we work closely with each client to provide customized and relevant solutions. We tailor each program to the client’s individual needs. Working in partnership with your corporate leaders and/or meeting planners we'll design a program targeting your training, event, or recreational objectives.

Anderson Vacations’ team building programs are unique, challenging, fun and keep everyone involved. We can combine a selection of activities to create one-half day or whole day event. These activities can of course be extended to incorporate as many one-half or whole days as desired. And, we can divide your group into any number of teams that will spend the day competing in, enjoying, and learning from an assortment of events and challenges.

Many of our activities can be completed in as little as 15 minutes, making them perfect for breakout sessions, though most of our exercises are somewhat longer. Groups can often complete 3 - 4 of our individual events within an hour to an hour and a half, and can comfortably complete 5 of our events within a three hour time frame. All of our activities are easily adaptable to group size and many can be conducted either indoors or outdoors.

Pricing will vary depending on the number of individuals participating in an event, on the length of the event, and on the particular team building event selected. Ask our expert event planners for an exact price based on your group and your specific choice of programs.

Here is another exciting idea as to how to spend one-half day with your team.

For the programs listed below you don’t need to be an athlete, as long as you can walk or garden you can participate in these activities.

Philosophy & Introduction

The over-riding objective of Anderson Vacations corporate retreat and facilitation team is to provide your enterprise and its employees with a customized and exclusive experience that is designed to meet your specific requirements.

By definition, generic, off-the-shelf employee development programs cannot achieve a truly differentiated positive impact on performance. For this reason we work closely with each client to provide customized and relevant solutions. We believe that although there will always be common elements within industries and business, your firm’s immediate needs are unique to you.

What Do We Offer?

Our competent, knowledgeable, and experienced facilitators, working together with our internationally experienced program originators, designers and deliverers will ensure that your company receives a uniquely designed corporate retreat. We are committed to leveraging the knowledge, experience and skills of each participant for the benefit of the entire group. A sampling of the areas in which we have assisted clients with achieving dynamically innovative solutions includes Corporate Strategy Development, Change Management Initiatives, Multi-Cultural Effectiveness, Leadership Enhancement, Turn-Around Strategy, Team Building, and Motivation.

How Do We Accomplish This?

We have the network and personnel in place to identify a broad range of retreat locations and to design a program that combines the best of people, place and product. Working with our team of highly skilled academics and facilitators can not only provide you with the tools and skills to meet your immediate demand, but can also dramatically increase your opportunities to expand your range of clients and scope of products, as well as increase your productivity in delivering existing products and services.

What Is Our Proven Success Formula? Program Planning

We begin our process with detailed planning for the upcoming session. This first step involves client meetings where the issues to be addressed and the desired outcomes of the session are clearly defined. In addition, this is an opportunity for the client to identify who the primary session participants will be, and the specific level of senior corporate involvement. The second step in the planning stage is to draft a session itinerary for the client. This provides a double check of the clarity of understanding and interpretation of the process and objectives.

Program Design

The Developer(s)/Facilitator(s) set to work on designing detailed session materials and activities. At the same time potential locations are identified. It is imperative that both the facilitator(s) and the surroundings make the participants feel at ease and at home in their environment so that we achieve the highest possible degree of input and participation.

Program Delivery

The necessary support materials and the related activities are designed so that they provide a seamless and integrated flow. Each element of the agenda supports and nurtures the participants and their achieving the desired outcomes. In a final wrap-up discussion participants highlight and review their learnings and the session’s outcomes. Should the client desire, with their cooperation, we can also design and deliver a session evaluation.

Cattle Drive

Anderson Vacations, a Calgary-based tour operator, has added one of the west’s most exhilarating experiences to its repertoire of Incentive Travel options. The ranchers of southern Alberta move their cattle into, between or out of pastures at various times during the year. Incentive Travel groups can now join one of these authentic CATTLE DRIVE expeditions.IMAGINE your group of up to 30 people spending two days herding cattle across the rolling countryside of the Porcupine Hills. Your group of ‘cattle wranglers’ will eat out on the trail, spend the night in a trail camp under the stars, savour BBQ Alberta beef for dinner and enjoy cowboy poets, traditional western entertainment and stories of the west around the campfire.

The group will be accompanied by highly experienced working cowboys who see that you get the most from the experience while receiving the best of care and attention. And, what’s even better, is that the participants do not require riding experience; novices are welcome as well as seasoned riders. This western experience adventure is designed for corporate groups looking to explore the uniquely authentic flavour of the traditional west.

Anderson Vacations delivers personal and corporate western experiences throughout Alberta and the Rocky Mountains. We offer customized itineraries that include Incentive Travel and Team Building programs. Wild West Rodeo

The best way for your group to enjoy a Wild West Rodeo is to see it UP CLOSE. And the best way to accomplish that is to host a private demonstration rodeo exclusively for your group! We will deliver your private Wild West Rodeo at various locations throughout Alberta. Your group has the grandstand to themselves as they are treated to their very own multi-event rodeo. At the rodeo, they will experience the adrenalin rush of the cowboys' eternal battle to overcome the raw power of the untamed animals of the west. They will feel the exhilaration and excitement of watching bucking broncos, bull riders, steer wrestlers, calf ropers and barrel racers. This private Wild West Rodeo runs for approximately one hour and is especially effective when combined with a chili and/or BBQ hamburger lunch or followed by a complete BBQ dinner.Contact our knowledgeable staff today to discuss designing your group’s unique Incentive Travel experience.

Traditional Trails in the Wild Woods

Day 1
The first day starts with a meet and greet plus an in- depth information session to help participants understand the animals in the area and reduce the apprehension associated with camping and hiking in bear country. With education comes understanding and ease which makes the outdoor experience a pleasant one.

Then you:

Option 1:
Lace up your hiking boots for a two hour trail walk through the wilderness to Trapper’s Hill Camp where you will spend the next two nights. Your guides will share the history of the area and you can soak up the panoramic beauty and scenic lookouts of this majestic Rocky Mountain paradise.

Option 2:
Climb aboard your personally assigned horse for your journey to Trapper’s Hill Camp. Your horseback trail ride provides the opportunity to enjoy a taste of the back country and share this memorable Rocky Mountain experience with your tour companions.

This afternoon, participants will take part in a team building program that challenges their skills as 19th century Métis Trappers.

The Challenge: The group will be shown a series of Bushcraft lessons that will enable them to complete certain elements of required tasks. These lessons are based on traditional survival/primitive skills practiced by Métis trappers in the 1800s. There will then be a competition between teams where they will complete six tasks. Each of the tasks, if performed successfully, will earn the team a reward that will contribute toward their becoming the winning team. Teams must be vigilant once they receive a reward, as they could potentially lose it at the next task! Various challenges will be thrown at each team to test their ability to work together as a cohesive unit.

Day 2
The second day is dedicated to many of the traditional Bush-craft skills (i.e. make your own moccasins – to take home) used by both the Aboriginal people and those first European explorers that came to make a home in Canada. Your guides help to empower the participants with skills that create a sense of independence and self-reliance for any future camping trips or ventures into the back country. Fire making, shelter construction, rope making skills and making a container from natural resources are just some of the skills that will increase everyone’s self-confidence in the outdoors. The fire making sessions cover a wide variety of ways to start fires, the different uses for fire such as fires for cooking, signal fires and fires for warmth and how each one is built differently.

Day 3
On the third day guests are taken on a hike offering either an easy or slightly more strenuous option. Walks become miniature voyages of discovery. For example, we find certain plants and discuss their value as medicines, food or hardware. Skills in tracking both humans and animals are learned & practiced while observing the surrounding animal habitat and how we, as humans, should "walk softly". For those who have a keen interest in learning to map read, instructors will teach some basics as well as demonstrating how not to get lost in the woods, or perhaps just a chance to enjoy the sights. Depending on the hiking option, pristine waterfalls, vistas of the valley from stunning view points, peaceful streams and rivers meandering through the valley floor and of course the majestic peaks of the snow capped Rocky Mountains are a few of the highlights.
